CASEBACK MARKINGS:

• Center Text: The 7177 swapped a large Porsche Design logo for a smaller one, added Orfina to the text, and had "Military Chronograph 7177 MOD. DEP. INT." stamped on the back.

• For the outer engraving, the text differed as well:

  • 7176 S Perimeter Text: “7176 S CHRONOGRAPH AUTOMATIC WATERRESISTANT TESTED 10 ATM SHOCKPROTECTED STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE”

  • 7177 Perimeter Text: “WATERRESISTANT TESTED 10 ATM AUTOMATIC SHOCKPROTECTED STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE”

• There are two variations of the standard 7177 caseback that have been found.

  • Mk. 1 Variant: “7177” Engraved in the 4th line of text.

  • Mk. 2 Variant: “7177” Engraved in the 5th line of text.

• Serial Numbers: Present on these models.

  • All 7177 variants include a stamped serial number, which is found in groupings for particular dial configurations.

  • All serial numbers across all 7177 variants are sequential. However, there are three sets of serial counts, possibly four that we have identified.
