Reference 7177
The caseback engravings on the 7177 differ entirely from those of the 7176 variants.
CASEBACK MARKINGS:
Center Text: The 7177 swapped a large Porsche Design logo for a smaller one, added Orfina to the text, and had "Military Chronograph 7177 MOD. DEP. INT." stamped on the back.
For the outer engraving, the text differed as well:
7176 S Perimeter Text: “7176 S CHRONOGRAPH AUTOMATIC WATERRESISTANT TESTED 10 ATM SHOCKPROTECTED STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE”
7177 Perimeter Text: “WATERRESISTANT TESTED 10 ATM AUTOMATIC SHOCKPROTECTED STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE”
There are two variations of the standard 7177 caseback that have been found.
Mk. 1 Variant: “7177” Engraved in the 4th line of text.
Mk. 2 Variant: “7177” Engraved in the 5th line of text.
Serial Numbers: Present on these models.
All 7177 variants include a stamped serial number, which is found in groupings for particular dial configurations.
All serial numbers across all 7177 variants are sequential. However, there are three sets of serial counts, possibly four that we have identified.
NOTE
Specifically for the Venezuelan, UAE, and BUND-issued variants, there are unique caseback engravings, which will be discussed in their respective headings.
